This is a textbook that derives the fundamental theories of physics from symmetry.
It starts by introducing, in a completely self-contained way, all mathematical tools needed to use symmetry ideas in physics. Thereafter, these tools are put into action and by using symmetry constraints, the fundamental equations of Quantum Mechanics, Quantum Field Theory, Electromagnetism, and Classical Mechanics are derived.
As a result, the reader is able to understand the basic assumptions behind, and the connections between the modern theories of physics. The book concludes with first applications of the previously derived equations.

The author is very skilled at making advanced concepts clear. I've studied many of the books he's written and been very pleased with each of them. It would be useful if he would provide problems for the reader to solve (either embedded in the text or at the end of the chapters). Solving problems is the best way to learn for some of us.

Initially after surveying this book, all that registered with me was the complex mathematics. Even the first couple pages, which preview the whole book, seemed beyond my grasp. But as I pushed on it got easier and easier to comprehend. It lays out concepts in an exceptionally organized way. I didn't believe is was a Physics primer till after I finished the first chapter. Now I truly feel that it is a primer. But it does take some Calculus and Linear algebra to understand the math.
